The universe must have decided it was tired of hearing me say, “I wish I had more time for my art,” over and over again, because after 30 years I got laid off from corporate America.
I started taking classes and fell in love with making soft sculptured dolls or Art Dolls. I found a doll club that was five minutes from my house and it felt as if my soul was receiving a healing balm of love. I went to my first CIFI conference (please check out the link), and met some great and wonderfully talented fellow artists. But the magic really started when I looked into the eyes of Raven, aka Jean Bernard (check out her site too)!
Jean and Sherry (yep, please check out her site also) are two of the most beautiful, magical, talented people I have ever met. Now, with that said, Jean will kick your ass out of the nest faster than anyone I know LOL…but that is a story for another day.
Then I met Sprite! Sprite is one of the most talented, amazing, inspiring and yes most magical people on this planet. However, once you see her work you’re not entirely sure if she is from this planet. Her work is so other worldly (and you better check out her site)!
With encouragement from these teachers and my fellow artist friends: Rose, Moonie (aka Cindi, MG, Monet Me), Amy, Pixie and a host of others I began to really look inside and face my fears of creating.
The results have been fun, exciting, mind boggling, freeing, exhilarating, frustrating and fulfilling! It took several years, but I can now say…”yes, I am an artist!”
I am a mixed media artist and I love the journey I am on!
